Angelenos can’t get enough of their Italian cousins. A cozy spot for authentic Italian is Vincenti Ristorante on San Vicente’s Italian row in Brentwood. Owner Maureen Vincenti greets every guest at the door as if they were family and works the room to make sure all is well. Chef Nicola Mastronardi’s seasonal menu includes fiori, lightly fried zucchini blossoms with burrata and ricotta in a fresh tomato sauce. Follow that with a pasta course of bucatini all’amatriciana with cherry tomatoes and pecorino. The rotisserie porchetta with braised red cabbage with balsamic is legendary. Monday nights are pizza night, with all pies cooked in the wood-burning oven. Try the tomato-less bianca with artichokes, burrata, zucchini flowers and prosciutto. All desserts are made in-house, including the panna cotta and a classic ciambella — extra virgin olive oil cake with blueberry sauce and stracciatella gelato. Finish off the evening with a candlelight tour of the Grappa Garden, a cart with arguably the largest grappa selection in town. —Michele Stueven
