You will find the epitome of the California indoor/outdoor lifestyle at Pedalers Fork in Old Town Calabasas near the historic Leonis Adobe. It's a combination boutique bike shop, restaurant, bar and coffee shop all under one roof — dedicated to the local cycling culture. You can ride in on your tandem, drop it off for a tune-up and stay for lunch or brunch. The menu offers a huge selection of breakfast fare, including blueberry banana Johnny cakes; popular healthy items for cyclists include the zucchini bread French toast and chia seed porridge with dried fruits. For dinner, the restaurant offers selections for carnivores à la carte by weight or by piece; meats come with house-made barbecue sauce and pickled onions, and can also be ordered as a sandwich. Choose from Watkins Ranch grass-fed beef brisket, pulled pork shoulder, ribs or Mary's free-range chicken. Or just get the sampler platter. There are also pizza and taco choices and messy burgers on the menu. For lunch, try a Forbidden salad — shiitake mushroom, marinated tofu, carrot, radish, cucumber kimchi, mizuna, arugula, sesame, kale chips, warm black rice and miso vinaigrette. There are 30 beers on tap in the bar as well as a large selection of rye whiskey. The 10 Speed Coffee Shop opens at 6 a.m. for early riders and offers fresh baked scones, muffins and donuts. —Michele Stueven
