Alex Theatre

216 N. Brand Blvd.
Glendale, CA 91203
Constructed and opened as the Alexander in downtown Glendale in 1925 by the architectural company Meyer & Holler, the Alex Theatre has undergone various changes over the years, including an entranceway addition by Arthur G. Lindley and Charles R. Selkirk in 1939. A year later, legendary architect S. Charles Lee redesigned the outside of the theater and installed its distinctive art-deco spire and marquee. Renovated in 1993, the theater continues to host film screenings, concerts, dance performances, comedy and award shows.
