Abricott is John and Jo Wee's second restaurant, following French-Asian restaurant Daisy Mint. Located on Lake Avenue in Pasadena, Abricott ("Why the name? Just for fun") looks like your neighborhood pan-Asian joint crossed with a DIY antique store. The breakfast menu, which is served until 3 p.m., includes specialties like croque-monsieur, waffles, omelets, a pretty cool Viet-style platter of sizzling eggs with toast. For lunch, there's salads and sandwiches (pho, bánh mì, the Abricott burger). Dinner has more of the same, plus chicken wings, salad Niçoise, curry, flank steak and mussels Provençal, plus waffles for dessert and petits fours. The coffee is pretty good too: LAMILL and a La Marzocca machine, impressive and gleaming and up front, next to the pastry case. - Amy Scattergood
