The real star at this year's Oscars was Liza Minnelli, wearing that blue pantsuit and sporting the blue streak in her hair, which Joan Rivers later lovingly referred to as “Smurf sperm.” It's Liza's world and we're just living in it, which is why Miss Coco Peru is sitting down with the legendary actress-singer as part of her “Conversations With Coco.” After an introductory song, Peru will interview Minnelli – gay icon to gay icon – about her five decades – plus career. The occasion is in preparation for Minnelli's Simply Liza debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall on March 25. In case you didn't catch Peru's last show at the Renberg Theater in February, Miss Coco Peru: She's Got Balls, Peru's a drag diva extraordinaire, whose previous “conversations” have included everyone from Bea Arthur and Jane Fonda to Lily Tomlin. It'll be like Inside the Actors Studio, only without the questionnaire about favorite curse words and turn-ons, and without the ponderous James Lipton, who'll never be anywhere near as fabulous as tonight's host. Renberg Theater at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, 1125 N. McCadden Place, Hlywd.; Thurs., March 20, 7:30 p.m.; $75-$500. (323) 993-7400, lagaycenter.org.
