Scottish anthem-vendors Frightened Rabbit were on a lot of festival-goers' must-see list this year at Coachella, but that was before ash from an Icleandic volcano fouled air travel and left the quartet stranded on another continent. The smoke has cleared, the U2 acolytes are bringing their brawny, tremulous rock to the U.S. There's plenty of typically Britrock drama on their third album “The Winter of Mixed Drinks” — if L.A.'s cult of reverent Anglophiles isn't too hung over from celebrating Morrissey's birthday on Saturday, they will be served by these Scotsman on Sunday at the Music Box.

Elsewhere: Behind their new critically praised album “High Violet,” NYC quintet the National does sold-out shows tonight and Saturday at the Wiltern. … The inaugural Silverlake Jubilee goes off Saturday and Sunday along Myra Avenue, offering sets from 50 mostly local (and mostly inde-rock) bands and plenty of neighborhoody activites. Highlights on Saturday: the Entrance Band, Eastern Conference Champions, the Living Sisters, the Growlers and Wait. Think. Fast. On Sunday: Foreign Born, the Like, Voxhaul Broadcast, Radar Brothers and Useless Keys. … The show you are most likely to leave with confetti in your hair: OK Go, tonight at the Music Box (it's sold out too). … There's two days of jazz and its variations at the Baked Potato's 40th Anniversary fete at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre. … K-Pop has its day in the sun when the JYP Tour hits the Wiltern on Sunday, with South Korean quartet 2AM headlining. … Oh, and if you want to celebrate Moz's birthday in style, homage will be in order at the Key Club on Saturday, when Sweet and Tender Hooligans hold forth.
