Avant-garde beatmaker Flying Lotus is the toast of the town right now, the release of his new album “Cosmogramma” having hit the shores of electronic music like a tsunami and folks still buzzing over his eye-popping set at Coachella. For the man born Steve Ellison, this weekend's double-dip at the Echoplex has all the makings of a coming-out party — his solo gig tonight will be a lot like his performance in April in the desert, complete with visuals, but his music figures to take on a whole new complexion on Saturday night, when FlyLo debuts his live band. He'll man the keyboards, along with a guitarist, bassist, drummer, harpist, percussionist, tenor saxophonist and vocalists.

Kids in the Hall: It's a big weekend at Walt Disney Concert Hall — Bajofondo, the eight-person electro-tango collective from Argentina and Uruguay, joins the Philharmonic Orquestra of the Americas there tonight; Patti LuPone brings her solo show “Matters of the Heart” to the hall on Saturday; and Sunday evening you can get your legend on with saxophonist Sonny Rollins.
