This short piece, one in the Vision Version series produced by the Dublab collective, is one of the ongoing music project's most beautiful yet. Filmed at the Velaslavasay Panorama in West Adams, it features LA husband-and-wife team of Laura and Alfred “Deadus” Darlington, who record as the Long Lost. Their self-titled 2009 full length was a gorgeous, totally romantic gem, and you can see exactly how beautiful in the clip below, directed by Matt Amato of the Masses.

The sounds: glass bells and musical saws, a fretless bass and Laura Darlington's delicate voice.

The setting, according to Velaslavasay's website: “Drawing on the illustrious history of the great panorama paintings of the 18th and 19th centuries, The Velaslavasay Panorama is an exhibition hall, theatre and garden dedicated to the production and presentation of unusual visual experiences, including those of the 360-degree variety. The Velaslavasay Panorama panoramic exhibition encircles the spectator within a fully enveloping atmosphere; the vast painting, of a continuous surrounding landscape, accompanied by sound stimulation and three-dimensional elements, affords the viewer an opportunity to experience a complete sensory phenomenon.”

The director: We've followed Matt Amato's work forever — disclosure: he's a friend — but this is perhaps his most exquisite and tender work yet. (Either this or his Beach House video. Or his work on a pre-Edward-Sharpe Alex Ebert for Ima Robot's “Lovers in Captivity.” Or his Bon Iver clip. Or this one for the Dodos. )
