Maybe the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books should take a cue from Coachella and expand over two weekends. There's just so much great stuff to choose from. It would be impossible to give a useful synopsis in this little space, but here's how I'd do Saturday. Take the kid and endure the line for Jeff Kinney and his new Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever, followed by performance by Ozokidz; then “Fresh From Figment: Top Comic Actors Read From Young Writers Works featuring Michael Ian Black, Michael Hitchcock, Nick Roll, Wendi Clarendon-Covey, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr and Michael Watkins”; then “Anne Perry in Conversation with Denise Hamilton”; and “Susan Orlean in Conversation with Michael Silverblatt.” Oh crap – those are all a the same time! Good luck! USC, Exposition Blvd. & S. Figueroa St.; Sat., April 21, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; free; parking $10. events.latimes.com/festivalofbooks.
