Rider and Passenger Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 4

CALAVERAS, CA (April 22, 2021) – Saturday afternoon, 54-year-old Lisa Gumm was airlifted after a motorcycle accident on Highway 26.

The incident happened around 2:40 p.m., just east of Double Springs Road. Emergency crews arrived to the area shortly after.

According to police, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on the highway. For reasons unknown, the driver suddenly crossed over the double yellow line and hit a a 2020 Ford Transit Van in the oncoming lane.

Emergency responders arrived and found the rider and Lisa Gumm with major injuries. Both were airlifted to a local trauma center for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford was left unharmed.

Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate and reach out as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
