Lindsay Lohan surrendered at Beverly Hills court Tuesday morning to begin a 90-day sentence for violating terms of probation in her DUI saga. Upon her arrival a few fans held up “Free Lindsay” signs and at least one onlooker threw gold confetti at the star. The judge ordered all cameras off before Lohan was placed into custody, so there were no images of her in handcuffs. TMZ reported that her second lawyer in as many weeks, celebrity attorney Robert Shapiro, quit, but that her last attorney, Shawn Chapman, has taken her back.

TMZ was covering her Superior Court arrival live. The actress was expected to be taken to a county jail in Lynwood. She will likely only serve about three weeks of her sentence as a result of overcrowding.

The main source of Lohan's incarceration was her absence at several mandated alcohol classes.

Lohan was behind the wheel of a Mercedes that crashed into a hedge in Beverly Hills in 2007. She subsequently pleaded no contest to DUI, including being under the influence of cocaine, After spending 84 minutes in detention she was put on three years probation — including the alcohol education courses.
