After flying into Los Angeles from France over the weekend actress Lindsay Lohan showed up for court Monday morning, where a judge slapped her with a bracelet that monitors alcohol use and mandated that she drink no booze and submit to weekly drug tests.

Lohan was late to her Beverly Hills Superior Court appearance, with the black Cadillac Escalade SUV that delivered her arriving a few minutes past her appointed, 8:30 a.m. date. Her attorney blamed delays in security planning. The judge didn't care. She also didn't care that Lohan needed to act in a film in Texas or model during a photo shoot.

Judge Marsha Revel, who reportedly put off a vacation to be on time for this event, denied Lohan's request not to have to wear the “SCRAM” alcohol-monitoring bracelet. The actress' lawyer argued it would interfere with her ability to work.

As Lohan stayed in the courthouse hours beyond the quick hearing, she was reportedly fitted with such a device.

Lohan was in the hot seat after missing a date to check in with the court last week. She was in Cannes and said her passport had gone missing. The court date was related to probation for her 2007 arrest and subsequent conviction for DUI.
