80-Year-Old Woman Dies in Big-Rig Collision near Buena Vista Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 19, 2022) – Monday morning, Linda Joyce Beaty was fatally struck in a semi-truck accident on Highway 119.
The incident was reported around 7:22 a.m., near Buena Vista Road. Crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.
Investigators said a woman driving a northbound 2016 Ford pickup-truck stopped at the intersection on Highway 119. There, a 2015 Peterbilt truck struck the Ford pickup-truck.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the female driver of the Ford died at the scene. Bakersfield Officials later identified the deceased victim as 80-year-old, Beaty of Bakersfield.
Meanwhile, her female passenger sustained moderate injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released her identity.
Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal Highway 119 crash.
