VIBIANA

214 S. Main St., dwntwn., Sat., May 25, 6 p.m.-2 a.m., 21 and older; tickets start at $45

There are dress-up parties, and then there's Myth Masque. Last year, the fantasy fashion extravaganza saw the city's most imaginative costume designers gather for an enchanted evening that brought Halloween-style hijinks and sophisticated costumes to a Wonderland-esque atmosphere.

Once again taking place at the beautiful Vibiana downtown, this event is the grandest way to mark the celebratory spirit of Memorial Day weekend: amidst fairies and unicorns and nymphs and creatures of the imagination. The second annual event will include a Sanctuary of the Sirens, in which guests can mingle with mermaids; a Chambre du Vampire lounge, for those wishing to bite into a more seductive side of the soiree; and “fashion stories” from local designers.

Additional entertainment includes Vera Mesmer, Bella Electric Strings, Elysium Dance Theatre, Esza Kaye, Angels of Venice and master of ceremonies Jeffrey Damnit.

Intriguing visuals, fanciful music both new and old, dancing, live performances, drinks, hors d'oeuvres and interactive photo-op areas make for an immersive experience that won't cease until the bewitching hour — or whenever you finally wake up from the dream.
