Thankfully, sweater weather has been scarce, because sweaty soirees have been plentiful so far this fall. Two anniversaries offer celebratory haps to hop into, and we recommend some old standbys, too. With a double dose of Dublab and two very different discos on the picks list this week, autumn is awesome for the DJ and dance scene.

Fri., Oct. 14

Looking to kick off your Friday with a reliably raucous dance floor rager? Look no further than Punky Reggae Party, the grooving, all-vinyl grinder from Part Time Punk's Michael Stock and Dub Club's Boss Harm and Jason Mason. From Marley to the Minutemen, this music mix (as heard on KXLU) is made to make you move. Come early for free entry or late for end-of-the-night jammin.' 336 S. Hill St., Downtown. www.lacitabar.com

If you're ever gonna check out the dark-themed industrial experience known as Das Bunker, this should be the week. The club celebrates its 15-year anniversary tonight. There'll be a live performance by Continues, plus DJ sets from special guest Sprite (Chicago/Kinetic Crew) and Bunker's usual beat drivers. Plus, the first 300 through the door get a free DB t-shirt. The Catch One, 4067 W Pico Blvd. www.dasbunker.org

Dublab's got a big anniversary shindig (see Sat.) but this little one, called Top Tape, is must-do, too. Their “tape team” will be playing favorite “cassingles, mixtapes, and cassette-spooled albums.” Yup, Dublab still thinks outside the iPod. Frosty + Matthew David head up the all-tape tag-team rotation DJs or shall we say “TJs.” VHS visuals will be mixed live by Alexandra Pelly, and it's a release party for the new Crimekillz cassette. Free. The Hyperion Tavern, 1941 Hyperion Ave. Silver Lake.www.dublab.com

Sat., Oct. 15

Dublab celebrates 12 years of progressive explorations of music, arts and culture with a specially curated happening featuring Musical Performances By Diva, Teebs, Daedelus, Take Aka Sweatson Klank, Julia Holter, High Places, Sfv Acid, Jonti, ESP plus secret guests and of course, Dublab's own experimental DJs. Film retrospective and screenings, projections, screen-printing, food truck court, and free Bicycle Valet. $10 donation goes to support dublab's “positive, non-profit music mission.” ATX, 3229 Casitas Ave., Atwater Village. Tickets here.

A very different kind of disco (for sun lovers) is in store at Disco Dive™, thanks to the warm fall weather. DD debuts The Standard downtown's new beer garden by featuring vinyl DJ sets from Dewey Chan, Junior, Jeniluv, Dirty Dave and Gold & Beck. Free Jello shots, water guns, bubbles and a photobooth.
