Summer will be gone before you know it, so get ready to mark off a few must-dos from the bootie-bumper bucket list. Been to a DJ-driven afternoon pool party yet? A three-day Mod scooter ride and stomp-a-thon? An old school Gothic Ball? A hipster sweat fest that resembles a video game? How about theme parties dedicated to Prince or the Wizard of Oz?

Believe it or not, all of this and more is happening this weekend. We've got all the deets here for ya and more, so plan those outfits, take your vitamins, schedule some serious disco naps, and maybe even put in for that vacation time.

Wild Summer clubbin' is in full effect this week:

Fri., July 29

Every day is Mod day for the scooter riding soulshakers who frequent the Bullet dance club, and promoter Rich Schillling has got a triple whammy planned this weekend. The Mods Weekender begins at Tiki NO, the tropical oasis on North Hollywood known for killer umbrella'd cocktails. There's a ride (no butt rockets allowed) planned through Los Feliz into H-wood where the dancing commences at Hollywood Studio Bar and Grill. Victor Diablo, Arthur Allblack, Jesse Trejo, Lee Joseph, Greg Belson, Andy Cobb will be spinning top mod sounds for the night. Saturday afternoon, it's back to the Grill where a daytime vintage flea market and afternoon BBQ offers DJs, '60s Videos and bands. More fun on Sun.: Lunch time DJs, open turntables (“bring some records if ya wanna spin”), an awards presentation. More info and presale tix available at www.bulletweekender.eventbrite.com.

LA's own Lazrtag bring their banger sensibility to Control. It's fitting that their name references a game, because their set is sort of like watching one: the duo use customized iPad touch-screen midi controllers when they spin. Oklahoma's Kids at the Bar and Florida wonderkind DallasK open. Expect hipsters, hype-sters and cool haircuts galore at this one. 1735 Vine St. Hollywood. www.avalonhollywood.com

Sat., July 30

It's time for a Summer Resurrection. Yeah, Goths may not be the first thing that come to mind when you think about Summer, but for the past few years, this one has gotten them all out of the house (after dark of course). The folks that brought you Coven13, Helter Skelter, and Perversion join forces for this “summer gothic ball.” DJs Michael Stewart, Amanda Jones, Jason Farber and Jason Lavitt spin Old School Gothic, Industrial, and Alternative sounds for your floor fiending pleasure. At the El Rey, 5515 Wilshire Blvd. 18 & over. Facebook invite here.

The ultimate Prince Purple Party features sounds from the superstar Sexy Motherf*cker, old and new, including friends and inspirations such as Vanity, The Time, Sheena Easton and more. BONUS PICK!

Tues., Aug. 2

“There's no place like Hollywood….” especially ever since Mr. Black came to town two years ago. This Tuesday, the club goes Wizard of Oz outrageous, and yours truly will be celebrating a birthday (as Glinda no less!) Writer/comedian Cassie Carpenter also marks her b-day (as Dorothy) and we're guessing the club's usual flamboyant crowd will comes as the others, not to mention lions and tigers and bears! DJ Josh Peace spins, and we may even join him to select a few of our faves. 1737 N. Vine St. (above Avalon); free. Facebook invite here.
