45-Year-Old Woman and Dog Dead, Child Injured after Pedestrian Collision on Leigh Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (April 6, 2023) – Sunday night, police responded to a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Limin Cao. The crash occurred on March 26th, just before 7:00 p.m., near the intersection of Blossom Hill Road and Leigh Avenue. According to reports, 45-year-old Cao, a child and a dog were walking in a crosswalk. There, a 2000 green or blue Honda sedan driven by 27-year-old Silvia Solorio struck them. The impact of the collision left Cao, her child and her dog with serious injuries. Meanwhile, Solorio drove off without rendering aid to the victims. Emergency crews at the site of the accident pronounced 45-year-old Limin Cao, of Los Gatos, and the dog dead at the scene. Medics transported the child to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Following the accident, police arrested Solorio and booked her to Santa Clara County Main Jail. She was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run. An active investigation is underway.
