Manessis T. Alexander Arrested after Fatal DUI Crash near Watmaugh Road
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (January 25, 2022) – Liam Washington was killed and his brother was hurt Sunday morning, in a collision on Highway 116.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:13 a.m., near Watmaugh Road.
Per reports, the driver of a 2017 Cadillac was traveling west on the highway, passing cars over the double yellow lines and driving into oncoming traffic. The driver eventually crashed head-on against two other vehicles, then later into the path of a fourth vehicle.
Liam and Lucas Washington were passengers inside the Cadillac driven by a 24-year-old Marin man, Manessis T. Alexander.
Emergency responders pronounced Liam dead at the scene. Meanwhile, medics airlifted his twin bother, Lucas to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
Moreover, crews transported the driver of the second vehicle to Marin General Hospital with minor wounds.
In addition, the fourth vehicle’s driver sustained minor injuries that did not require transportation to a hospital.
The loved ones of the deceased victim created a GoFundMe account to help during these times.
Police later arrested Alexander on suspicion of felony DUI. At this time, the deadly incident is still under active investigation. Once available, further details will be provided.
