The Luggage Room Pizzeria: The Aristocrat

What a difference one letter makes. As of April 14th, Santa Monica's LGO (La Grand Orange) is getting a name change — to M Street Kitchen. The menu will mostly remain the same except for the seasonally-based changeover of certain dishes.

Stella Rossa Pizza Bar will also open next door. (Both restaurants are owned by Lettuce Entertain You, which has such a punny name it sounds like it ought to be repping party clowns.) Chef and partner Jeff Mahin, a veteran of both Heston Blumenthal's kitchen and Juan Mari Arzak's, has created a menu of seasonally-inspired, 12-13-inch Neapolitan-style pizzas made with locally-grown ingredients from nearby purveyors. With an open kitchen, exposed brick walls and reclaimed wood flooring, the airy space will seat 15 people at the pizza bar and 50 in the dining room.
