Just how much can you pack in for breakfast? Let's see. If you're being good, a yogurt, a banana and a piece of multigrain bread should do it. But if you're being bad, consider dropping by Vibiana for the L.A. Weekly Pancake Breakfast, a gastronomical extravaganza that includes a sampling of morning delights from more than 20 participating restaurants, plus complimentary beverages from the hosted bar and entertainment. Curated by Evan Kleiman, aka the “fairy godmother of the L.A. food scene,” there'll be mouthwatering creations from some of the city's liveliest eateries, including Brite Spot, Good Girl Dinette, Gottsui, Gjelina Take Away, Le Comptoir and Fred 62. The third annual event also features music by Lynda Kay, that gold-plated retro songstress described by Bruce Vilanch as “Amy Winehouse meets Mad Men meets Isabella Rossellini.” Huh? Anyway, Lynda “Take My Hand to Dreamland” will take your hand to hog heaven, with the voice Fred Willard compared to “maple syrup and black velvet.” Take out the velvet and you've got the perfect pancake accompaniment. A portion of the proceeds benefit Project Angel Food. Vibiana, 214 S. Main St., dwntwn.; Sun., Aug. 11, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; $30. Must be 21 to drink alcohol; please bring ID. (213) 626-1507, laweekly.com/pancakebreakfast.
