Female Passenger Killed in Off-Road Crash on Mod Way

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 30, 2022) – 17-year-old Leslie Ochoa lost her life Saturday night in a DUI accident on Panama Road.

The crash took place at the intersection of Panama Road and Mod Way on September 10th.

According to reports, a 17-year-old off-road vehicle driver was speeding when he crashed into a concrete culvert in the area.

Responding paramedics transported the driver and his three passengers, ages 17, 14, and 13, to a nearby hospital for treatment of moderate to severe injuries.

At the hospital, Leslie Ochoa, a 17-year-old passenger died from her injuries. Meanwhile, officials withheld the names of the remaining injured victims until their families are notified.

Authorities currently believe that alcohol was the primary cause of the crash. However, an active investigation is still underway.
