We know, sometimes all of us would like to commit a capital crime whenever we actually pay to see a movie featuring Ben Affleck (as if).

But this guy actually lost it during a screening of Leonardo DiCaprio flick Shutter Island in Lancaster nearly a year ago, and now he's being sent to prison for 40 years. Prosecutors say Landry Boullard stabbed a fellow movie-goer in the neck with a thermometer.

Here's the word from the L.A. District Attorney's office Friday:

The 40-year-old will catch his movies behind bars for 40 years and four months, according to a sentence laid down this week.

He was convicted in December of “willful, deliberate, premeditated, attempted murder; two counts of assault with a deadly weapon; and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon,” according to the D.A.

Boullard was ordered to pay the victim, who ended up comatose with a brain injury, $21,000 in restitution.

What set him off?

The victim apparently asked Boullard's date to stop talking on the phone. Two other moviegoers who intervened also suffered injuries.

Boullard has a record, authorities say, including convictions for drug sales and robbery.

Don't you wish these people came with their criminal histories tacked to their foreheads? At least then we'd know not to tell their rude dates to stop yacking on the phone during a movie.
