29-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision near Harding Street
LONG BEACH, CA (July 31, 2023) – Thursday morning, Leobardo Cervantes was killed in a hit-and-run bicycle crash on California Avenue. The incident took place at the intersection of California Avenue and Harding Street around 7:55 a.m., on July 9th. Per reports, the driver of a dark-colored sedan was speeding eastbound on Harding and struck the bicyclist. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without contacting police or rendering aid. Medical personnel arrived and transported the cyclist to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 29-year-old Cervantes, of Long Beach. Meanwhile, officers are still looking for the suspect driver who intentionally hit the victim and fled the scene. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment.
