Are they L.A.'s answer to Broken Social Scene? An experimental reimagining of the Who incapable of selling out by design? Musical angels?

Whatever they are, Learning Music is/are a real force in this city. The musician collective has just launched its third free-album-a-month series with the long-playing Left Right.

There's a bit of experimental skronk peppered throughout for the more intrepid listeners, but the record also includes some hugely catchy songs written by Learning Music main brain John Wood and, in the case of “Visions,” co-written by guitarist Davin Givhan, who's also a member of Saul Williams' touring band.

Left Right is the 25th album of its kind that Learning Music has released since November of 2006. Each series lasts an entire year, with the lineup constantly shifting.
