Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) announced it is offering COVID-19 tests that deliver results within 1 hour.

The polymarese chain reaction (PCR) tests will be available at the Tom Bradley International Terminal from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily and may require an appointment depending on demand.

“We continue to see a strong demand for fast and accurate COVID-19 testing at LAX, which is helping passengers travel safely and opening up more destinations to them,” Los Angeles World Aiports (LAWA) CEO, Justin Erbacci, said. “By adding a one-hour rapid PCR test, LAX once again is leading the way in airport innovation and guest service, and providing travelers with access to dependable and accurate rapid testing solutions that meet their timing needs.”

The testing site will be located specifically at ticket counters C01-C05 on the Upper/Departures Level of the Tom Bradley terminal.

The rapid test was developed by Visby Medical and will cost travelers $199 to take.

Multiple countries outside the U.S. require a negative COVID-19 test to enter and this rapid test will now join LAX’s PCR nasal swab test ($125) that yields results within 3-5 hours and an antigen test that has results ready within 24 hours ($80).

Fully vaccinated individuals currently do not need to take tests in order to travel within the U.S., but may need to take a test if an outside destination requires it.

The CDC still recommends people not travel until fully vaccinated.
