37-Year-Old Man Killed in DUI Accident on Orange Avenue

ANAHEIM, CA (September 2, 2021) – Sunday night, felonies were charged against John Angulo after a crash that killed Lawrence Harris.

According to the Anaheim Police Department, John Edward Angulo ran a red light at the intersection of Knott and Orange Avenue. There, he slammed into a vehicle driven by Harris.

Officers arrived to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area. Angulo reportedly fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived.

Due to the impact of the crash, Harris succumbed to his injuries.

Hours later, officers located the 30-year-old suspect from Orange sleeping inside another vehicle not far from the scene.

Angulo was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury. Additionally, there is a sentence enhancement for fleeing the scene of vehicular manslaughter.

Lastly, Angulo is accused in the death of 37-year-old Lawrence Harris, of Buena Park. At this time, the hit-and-run crash remains under active investigation.
