Vehicle Accident on Highway 49 Left Elderly Woman Hurt, One Arrested

NEVADA CITY, CA (July 25, 2022) – On Tuesday, a DUI crash on Highway 49 left 67-year-old Lavonne Mullin hospitalized, authorities reported.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened along Highway 49, involving at least two vehicles.

Furthermore, police said Mullin’s pickup overturned leaving her with minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics quickly transported Mullin to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the DUI driver, identified as 40-year-old Cole Paulson, also suffered from minor injuries.

Eventually, Nevada City Officials arrested Paulson for a felony DUI charge.

Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
