67-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Red-Light Collision near Interstate 5

CARLSBAD, CA (January 27, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Laszlo Nagy was fatally struck in a motorcycle accident on Cannon Road.

Police arrived to the scene around 5:00 p.m., just north of the Interstate 5 off-ramp on January 17th.

Per reports, the rider of a Kawasaki motorcycle traveled through the intersection on a red light. There, the motorcycle crashed into a Toyota minivan.

Paramedics responded shortly after and transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the motorcyclist, 67-year-old Nagy, of Carlsbad dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the minivan driver, a 72-year-old woman, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, no further details surrounding the fatal accident on Cannon Road have been made available. Carlsbad officers urge any witnesses to reach them at 760-931-2197.
