Two Men Struck by Car on Carson Street, Larry Koepke Pronounced Dead

LONG BEACH, CA (January 10, 2022)Larry Koepke died Monday morning after he was struck by a vehicle along Carson Street.

According to Long Beach Police, the crash happened at 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Carson Street.

Police said Koepke, 83, and another elderly man, 73, were walking south on Carson when they got hit by a 2020 Hyundai Sonata.

Unlike his unnamed companion who suffered minor injuries, Koepke had serious injuries to his chest, police said.

Responders took both of them to the hospital for treatment.

Come Friday, Police received the news that Koepke of Lakewood died.

No information is available at the moment regarding the state of his companion.

The Hyundai driver, a 75-year-old resident of Long beach, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
