As a young prodigy, Larry Goldings performed for jazz royalty, including Sarah Vaughan, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Tommy Flanagan and Jim Hall. His organ trio is regarded as one of the greatest, and he had the honor of playing duets with the late great Charlie Haden. The pianist/organist has won at playing jazz, which might be why he traded the cutting edginess of New York for the sun-drenched Hollywood Hills, now writing hits with Sia, playing piano for James Taylor, and otherwise, winning. He appears here with L.A. musicians bassist David Piltch, drummer Jay Bellerose, and percussionist Sebastian Aymanns.
