Tow Truck Driver Killed in Fatal DUI Accident near Seamas Avenue

SACRAMENTO, CA (March 30, 2021) – Saturday evening, 46-year-old Larry Godbold was arrested after a deadly DUI accident on 5 Freeway.

The crash happened around 11:40 p.m., near Seamas Avenue. While heading to work, Godbold struck a tow truck on the northbound lanes.

Per reports, Godbold was in the No. 4 lane when his minivan struck the victim. As a result, the tow truck driver was ejected into the northbound lanes.

Shortly after, the tow truck driver was pronounced dead on scene. However, officers have not yet released their identity. Meanwhile, Godbold stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

At this time, Larry Godbold remains under arrest on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
