Banks, liquor stores and check-cashing outlets seem to be the tried-and-true targets of run-of-the-mill robbers. But the Los Angeles Police Department reports Friday that a pair of stick-up artists has more refined taste than your average criminal.

The LAPD is searching for a duo that has targeted Westside antique stores, robbing them of valuable, vintage jewels. They were caught on video:

The debonnaire duo struck a shop in the 9000 block of West Pico Boulevard in West L.A. on May 4 at 9:30 a.m. They hit another store, in the 200 block of South Robertson Boulevard in the South Robertson district, about 2:15 p.m. on the Fourth of July, police said.

In both cases they forced employees to the floor. In the latter stick-up an eomployee was bound and cash was also taken.

One suspect was described as “mild mannered and well spoken.”

Perhaps they've been watching Antiques Roadshow, Pickers or Pawn Stars.

Anyone with information about the pair was asked to call detectives at 310-444-1529.
