The holidays are coming.

It's time to start saving that cash. You know what makes it extremely difficult to save cash? A DUI. The Auto Club of Southern California says the ordeal will cost you close to $16,000, and that's if you're lucky and don't kill or injure anyone, including yourself.

Invest in the holidays by getting a ride this weekend instead of gambling. The Los Angeles Police Department is trying to make the decision easier for you by warning you about exactly when and where its anti-drunk driving operations will be.

Here's the cheat sheet:

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., an LAPD checkpoint will be awaiting your arrival on Sepulveda Boulevard at Parthenia Street in beautiful North Hills.

Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., extra police will be on the streets of LAPD's Topanga Division area of the San Fernando Valley. Cops call this a “saturation patrol.”

Sunday from 6 p.m. to midnight, a checkpoint will welcome you to Imperial Highway at Compton Avenue in good ol' Watts.

Yeah, once again, the great white Westside is spared from special DUI enforcement.

Be safe.
