Boy do we have news for you. The LAPD has a DUI checkpoint in the works for Sherman Oaks — and we know the time and place. Why are we so enthused about this tidbit? Because for whatever reason, you guys clearly love checkpoint news.

Whenever we post about LAPD checkpoints our traffic goes up higher than your blood alcohol level after that fifth mojito.

So here goes, the 411 on that Valley DUI checkpoint for Friday:

It'll happen from 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Ventura Boulevard between Columbus Avenue and Noble Avenue in Sherman Oaks. Police will also be looking for unlicensed drivers (and impounding their cars).

Now, why do the cops put this information in the media's hands instead of keeping the checkpoints secret and sneaking up on you like a shot of Patron?

The LAPD:

“By publicizing these enforcement and education efforts, the LAPD believes motorists are deterred from drinking and driving,” the department states.

At least you'll be deterred from Ventura Boulevard between Columbus Avenue and Noble Avenue Friday night.
