It's the calm before the storm.
And that storm is Halloween weekend, which will do doubt kick off even before Oct. 31 (a Thursday night). This will amount to three or four nights of high-visibility DUI patrols for the L.A. area.
But in case you think there's ever a safe time to get behind the wheel after downing a few the LAPD is out to prove you wrong this weekend. They don't stop. Here's where they'll be:
-Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be an LAPD DUI checkpoint on Florence Avenue at Main Street in South Los Angeles.
–Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. just such a checkpoint will also be expect you on Roscoe Boulevard at Gloria Avenue in North Hills.
-Finally, on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. there will be extra police on the streets of the LAPD's 77th Street Division just looking for drunk drivers. The department calls it a “saturation patrol.”
Getting arrested for DUI is scarier than anything you'll see on Halloween. We warned you.
