We noted in last week's LA Weekly DUI checkpoint cheat sheet that the LAPD wasn't giving us exact locations as it had done for years.

We wondered aloud if Chief Charlie Beck's own reservations about giving potential drunks detailed warnings about where his officers would be finally trickled down to the department's weekly notices. Apparently not:

The detailed locations are back. LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told us last week's omission was probably just an oversight and that it did not comprise a change in policy.

So here you go. (And for those who constantly ask why we publish these, keep in mind that the LAPD has said it believes putting this info out can have a “deterrent effect” on drinking and driving).

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. there will be a checkpoint at Hyperion Avenue and Tracy Street in Silver Lake. Look out hipsters. (We kid. Sort of. Only rich hipsters can afford to live up there anymore).
