One more checkpoint added at the bottom.

You would think that the cops would give you a break after arresting 1,118 drivers for alleged DUI during 4th of July festivities in L.A. County this year.

Nope.

Not only are they not letting up, but the LAPD will be shooting fish in a barrel with one checkpoint this weekend:

Yep. One of the checkpoints will be right in the heart of Koreatown. Ethnic stereotypes aside, there are some drunk fools in Koreatown. (And note here, before you accuse us of being an asshole, which we are, that a majority of residents in K-Town are Latino).

That lovely traffic stopper happens tonight on Vermont Avenue between Fifth and Sixth streets from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. (which will totally interrupt your karaoke after-hours route — use Normandie).

Tomorrow (Saturday) there will be another checkpoint on Figueroa Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard in the Exposition Park area from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Where's the checkpoint in Brentwood, Pacific Palisades or Hancock Park? Doesn't the LAPD ever target white people with these things, you ask? The answer is no.

But note that the MLK checkpoint, above, is pretty damn close to USC. So watch your backs, Trojans.

[Added at 4:48 p.m.]:

There's one more checkpoint, and it happens tonight: It's at Nordhoff Street and Woodley Avenue in North Hills from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
