It was a story that was so shocking it was almost hard to believe. An LAPD officer with six years on the force one day decided to lure two girls under the age of 10 into his Castaic-area residence to commit lewd acts, authorities alleged.

Twenty-eight-year-old Miguel Schiappapietra was charged last week with two felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14. But his lawyer says he's innocent:

Today attorney David D. Diamond came out swinging, saying that “once the facts come out, it will be clear that everyone rushed to judgment.”

Schiappapietra was arrested May 18 after it was alleged that he lured the girls to his home in the 28000 block of Branch Road and “committed lewd acts,” according to sheriff's allegations.

Diamond says his client has no criminal history or allegations of inappropriate contact with minors and that the case doesn't add up:

With wild allegations already having gone public, let me be clear, there are no claims of penetration, oral copulation or molestation, in any way, shape or form.

Schiappapietra was placed on paid administrative leave, a.k.a. home duty, as his case is adjudicated.

He was released Wednesday on bond and was due back in court Thursday, according to L.A. County Sheriff's Department inmate data.
