The top cops of the Los Angeles and Boston police departments are betting their pride against the best-of-seven NBA finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Chief Charlie Beck and Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis have created a friendly wager. The bet calls for the losing city's top cop to travel to the other side to work in their own uniform alongside local officers.

Because neither man would have the jurisdiction to make arrests on streets his home state, Beck and Davis have agreed to use vacation time to settle the bet. As a consolation, the winner will treat the loser to his city's best food fare.

“I'm not sure where I would have Commissioner Davis work, maybe Hollywood,” Chief Beck said.
