Update: KTLA News ID's the woman as 24-year-old Lacrecia Hill of Long Beach and says she was last seen May 15.

The body of a woman in her 20s was found in a trash-sorting facility in Wilmington over the weekend, Los Angeles police said Monday.

Problem is, the trash that comes into the location is from all over Southern California — from San Juan Capistrano in Southern Orange County to communities north of L.A., according to the LAPD.

And so, they're asking if you might know something.

The discovery in the 900 block of East E Street in Wilmington was made about 6:15 p.m. Friday.

The woman is said to be African American. The cause of death isn't yet know. LAPD:

Investigators believed that the body was likely delivered to the facility earlier that day among the numerous truckloads of recyclables that had been dropped off for processing.

Anyone with possible information about her was asked to call detectives at 310-726-7882.
