L.A. cops' end-of-the-summer, Labor Day DUI crackdown has been one epic operation. It started two weeks ago and will culminate with one almighty can of whoop-ass this weekend.

The good news is that they're telling you where they'll be and when they'll be there. The idea, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, is that knowing that authorities will be hunting down drunk drivers will dissuade you from getting behind the wheel after you've had one too many.

Here's what we know about the grand finale of the Avoid the 100 Los Angeles County DUI Task Force for Labor Day weekend:

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. the LAPD will be haunting one of its all-time favorite DUI checkpoint locations—Vermont Avenue and Sixth Street in lovely Koreatown. Must be good pickin's.

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. an LAPD checkpoint will be running at Roscoe Boulevard and Gloria Avenue in glorious Van Nuys.

Tonight the department will be operating a checkpoint into the unprecedented wee hours: This one will happen at Figueroa and Ninth streets near Staples Center downtown from 10 p.m. until a late, late 4 a.m.

Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. the L.A. County Sheriff's Department will join in on the checkpoint fun with an operation of its own somewhere in the city of Lakewood (they're not telling us exactly where).

Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. sheriff's deputies will be running a checkpoint in the city of Paramount (again, they're not saying exactly where).

Tonight from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. deputies will be at a checkpoint somewhere in the city of Lancaster.

Tonight sheriff's deputies switch up the hours for a 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. checkpoint somewhere in the city of Carson.

Tonight from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. the Pasadena Police Department will come to the checkpoint party with an operation of their own somewhere in town (they're not saying exactly where).

Saturday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. an LAPD checkpoint will be waiting for you at Avalon Boulevard and Opp Street in Wilmington.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. a department checkpoint will be awaiting your arrival at Sunset Boulevard and Laveta Terrace in hipsterized Echo Park.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD will be working a checkpoint at Sherman Way and Yolanda Avenue in gorgeous Reseda.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. the LAPD will be back to the Staples Center area, at Olympic Boulevard and Blaine Street, for some serious checkpoint action.

Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight the L.A. County Sheriff's Department will be running a checkpoint somewhere in the city of La Mirada (they're not saying exactly where).

Saturday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Pasadena cops will have extra cruisers and motorcycles on the streets in the hunt for inebriated motorists.

Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Burbank police will run a checkpoint somewhere in their fine burg.

Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. the LAPD will have extra cruisers and motorcycles searching for drunk drivers in its Harbor Division area, which includes San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor-Gateway and a small slice of Southeast L.A.
