Regardless of your protein predilections, tacos are a staple of the Angeleno diet. We've recognized as much on this blog, with no less than three top-10 lists counting down our favorite tacos: meat-filled, seafood and those you specifically get from a truck.

On Sunday, June 23 from noon to 5 p.m., L.A. Weekly will host a summer party to celebrate the great tacos of the Southland, complete with live music and a tequila garden at the Hollywood Palladium.

Thirty-plus taco purveyors hailing from L.A., Orange County, and Baja (yes! they're coming all the way from Mexico!) are slated to provide the stars of the party. They've been curated by Bill Esparza of Street Gourmet, who last year memorably wrote about the food lovers he “smuggles” into Tijuana for the Weekly. Bistro LQ, SOL Mexican Cocina, Guerilla Tacos, Loteria Grill, Mexicali Taco Co., Rocio's Mole De Los Dioses, SoHo Taco, and La Guerrerense are among the already confirmed attendees. Among the booze sponsors: Anheuser-Busch, Sino Tequila, Hornitos Tequila and Kinky Liqueur.

Tickets are $20 general admission and $40 for VIPs. They'll go on sale online next Thursday, April 18 — but you can get them two days early if you sign up for our Squid Ink'd newsletter. A portion of the proceeds will go towards Homeboy Industries, which means you could feel positive about eating your fill of tacos in more than one way.

We now resume our regular non-promotional programming.
