The Hustle is a feminine revision of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which itself is a remake of Bedtime Story, a 1964 comedy starring Marlon Brando and David Niven. Instead of two conmen taking advantage of wealthy women on the French Riviera, Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson star as two scam artists — one smalltime and the other high-class — who join forces to avenge themselves on the men who used and dumped them. Chris Addison, who cut his teeth as a director of TV comedy, makes his feature debut.

Also opening wide Friday: Asako I & II; Ask Dr. Ruth; The Biggest Little Farm; Wine Country; Poms; Pokéman Detective Pikachu; Tolkien.
