… 33-year-old Calvin Eugene Gray of L.A., according to an LAPD statement.

Cops responding to an 8:30 p.m. report of a shooting in the 1000 block of West 76th Street in South L.A. discovered Gray in a vehicle, “suffering from possible gunshot wounds,” the statement reads.

L.A. Fire Department paramedics responded and declared the man dead at the scene, the LAPD says.

CBS Los Angeles reports that relatives believe Gray was dropping off a loved one when a burgundy-colored car rolled up and one of three possible suspects inside opened fire.

A police spokesman said he couldn't confirm that story, and that detectives were looking at a couple different possible scenarios.

Anyone with info on the attack or the possible suspects was asked to call detectives at 213-486-6890.
