The Los Angeles Kings will not play another game or practice until after Christmas, as the National Hockey League has paused its season due to COVID-19.

The announcement was made Monday after all its Wednesday games were postponed because of COVID-19 outbreaks throughout the league.

With that, the NHL decided to postpone all league activities, including travel, until December 26, where players will concurrently be tested for COVID-19.

That means the L.A. Kings will not play their next game until December 27 against the Arizona Coyotes.

“Upon return from the Holiday Break to team facilities, no individual in the team’s Traveling Party shall enter the facility (other than for testing purposes) until they have a negative test result,” The NHL said in a statement. “Any practice scheduled for Dec. 26 must begin after 2 p.m. local time.”

The Kings are not the only L.A. team to have been affected by recent COVID-19 outbreaks, as the L.A. Rams had their Sunday game rescheduled to Tuesday, after 25 players tested positive.

The L.A. Chargers also announced that seven of its players tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, with their statuses for this weekend’s game still unknown.

On Sunday, the Lakers played without head coach Frank Vogel, who entered the league’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, joining players Kent Bazemore, Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dwight Howard, Malik Monk and Austin Reaves.
