Don't get us wrong: Los Angeles is the place to be. The waves, the mountains, the pretty people. But maybe that's why it's so expensive to live here; everybody wants a piece of the action.

The latest report by personal finance site WalletHub finds that L.A. ranks dead last when it comes to “The Best Cities to Find a Job.”

Now everybody go back to where you came from!

WalletHub says it looked at the number of job openings, employment growth, unemployment, diversity of industry, the number of part-timers, the number of workers living in poverty (we excel at that) and the cost of living (we kill on that score).

Of the top 60 most populous American cities, L.A. came in 60th. We beat New York (No. 59), Fresno (58) and nearby Riverside (56). Yay!

Interestingly, Bakersfield, our neighbor to the north, came in at No. 1 for “Fastest-Growing Workforce.” “Sometimes the grass truly is greener on the other side of the county line,” a WalletHub spokeswoman told us.

You can get your “Highest Median Starting Salary” up the coast, in Silicon Valley (San Jose): $57,108.

The overall best cities to find jobs included No. 1 Fort Worth, No. 2 Washington, D.C. (long live Big Government!), No. 3 Tampa, No. 4 Arlington, Texas, and No. 5 Dallas. That's three North Texas cities for those of you keeping track – yeehaw.

Here's the list. Read 'em and weep:
