An off-duty L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy was killed after a high-speed crash ejected him from his car around 2 a.m., Thursday.

According to a CHP release, Deputy Cameron Fish, 33, was driving a classic 1965 Cobra 427 roadster at a high speed before losing control and hitting both a street sign and street light, on the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Freer Street in Temple City.

Fish was reportedly ejected from the convertible and later pronounced dead at the scene.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deputy Cameron Fish who was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident and succumbed to his injuries on 9/16/21,” The Sheriff’s Dept. said in an online statement.

A female passenger was also in the vehicle and experienced critical injuries from the crash.
