Ain't no party like a sheriff's party.

Indeed, seven L.A. County deputies were taken off duty as authorities investigate a raucous holiday party last week that ended in a brawl between lawmen (and maybe women).

Hey, cops are people too. Just that these guys (and maybe girls) are charged with arresting us when we get rowdy. (And usually we end up behind bars. Not that we'd know).

The deputies at the event, in fact, were assigned to Men's Central Jail. So these are people who regularly break up fights. Must be frustrating to just have to watch and pepper-spray.

The 100-guest party was at banquet hall of the legendary Quiet Cannon in Montebello, a onetime epicenter of West Coast freestyle dance music. It broke out about 11:30 p.m. Friday, according to sheriff's officials.

Two people were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Nobody, apparently, broke out a gun (or a badge — for what?). Thank god.

Imagine the horror anyway: Holly shit, call the co … Oh, wait, these ARE the cops. Anarchy in the L.A.

The seven brawlers were off the beat without pay while sheriff's officials investigated.

Good luck. And like you always say to us, Yeah, yeah — tell it to the judge.
