Update 9:10 p.m.: As Mayor Eric Garcetti made an evening address to the city of Los Angeles, he said he expects Wednesday’s curfew to be the last.  The Wednesday curfew began at 9 p.m. and will be lifted at 5 a.m., Thursday.

“Tomorrow, barring a bad night from tonight, the curfew will be lifted in the city of Los Angeles,” Garcetti said. “The curfew does take effect tonight though. Please stay inside and please stay safe.”

Update 3:30 p.m.: An alert went out through mobile devices that the county-wide curfew would be enforced at 10 p.m. While the announced 9 p.m. time is the suggested time for Angelenos to stay home, the actual enforcement will not begin until 10 p.m. There have been past errors in the county-wide messages, so we will keep you updated if the curfew times change again.

While Mayor Eric Garcetti said the Los Angeles curfews would be taken day-by-day, Wednesday night marks the fourth straight day of imposed curfews.

The curfew is now later, beginning at 9 p.m., instead of the previous 6 p.m. start time. The curfew will end at 5 a.m. on Thursday.

L.A. Sheriff Alex Villanueva told KTLA 5 Tuesday, that curfews will continue daily until organized protests end.

There will be a Black Lives Matter Los Angeles-led protest at the Los Angeles Hall of Justice, starting at 3 p.m. today.
