Ever wonder what L.A.'s most creative bartenders like to do on their days off? That's exactly the idea behind Art Beyond the Glass, a fundraiser that features a variety of art, music, DJs, live performances and, of course, lots of cocktails for a cause at Sadie in Hollywood on June 17th.

Created by Providence bar manager Zahra Bates and Daniel Djang, founder and editor of the cocktail blog, Thirsty in L.A., Art Beyond the Glass was intended as a way for the city's bartenders to demonstrate their “other” creative endeavors, while also benefiting the Inner-City Arts program.

Featured bartenders include Tasting Kitchen's Justin Pike (chalk artist), Areal's Mia Sarazen (photographer), Roe Restaurant & Fish Market's Erik Trickett (musician), and Joshua Lucas of the Writer's Room (magician), as well as Playa's Julian Cox, Library Bar's Matt Biancaniello and many more. On display will be a huge collection of artwork, photography and live music performances created by L.A. bartenders.

Spinning records at the DJ booth will be Caña's Allan Katz, Steve Livigni, Dave Fernie of Pour Vous and the Spare Room's Naomi Schimek and Diana Gettinger. Live performances include Mad Planet, Providence's Laura Lindsay and Lindsay Nader from Pour Vous, and Aidan Demarest and Marcos Tello from Tello Demarest Liquid Assets.

Expect a lot of Pernod, people. It's rare that a group of so many talented bartenders is crammed into one night. A $40 pre-sale ticket includes an open bar, bar bites created by chef Mark Gold (Eva) and a raffle.
